Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day 2019

Watsonville Wetlands Watch and Common Language for Nature Connection are  hosting a fun and educational bird walk to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day. The bird walk will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 AM on the paved trail system on upper Struve Slough in Watsonville. This tour, led by Jeff Caplan, Director of Common Language for Nature Connection, is both bi-lingual and wheelchair accessible. Other bilingual walks are also available this spring on his website. Participants will meet directly at the trail head located at the parking lot below the Body Zone in Watsonville.

Admission is free, but please reserve your spot.

Jeff Caplan weaves 30 years as a naturalist and a teacher of communication skills to cultivate a common language for connecting more deeply with nature and birds. He has led bilingual classes and walks for the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History, the UCSC Bird School Project and Monterey Bay Birding Festival. Internationally, he has given workshops and keynotes in Malaysia and in the Amazon jungles of Ecuador. He combines storytelling, citizen science and strengthening observation skills to inspire connection and stewardship among his audiences.
